  12. The World As I See It
  13. Hidden Track
This latest album by Jason Mraz was released last week. The tracks that stand out for me are track no. 4, 8, and 11. I am sure we are already familiar with Track no. 4, "I Won't Give Up", which was the first single from this album. It has beautiful sound and lyrics.

Track no. 8 is one of the up beat tracks in this album. "Frank D. Fixer" is where Jason wishes that he was a "fixer", so he could fix the "world" of the person that he loved.

Track No.11 is a great easy listening and the lyrics are very soothing, it is about when you love somebody you won't ask anything out of that person except for being honest. "Be Honest" is an acoustic track where you can hear a beautiful guitar melody playing in the background.

All the tracks from this album are love songs that have beautiful, poetic lyrics. Jason did a good job describing what LOVE is, especially love between a man and a woman.

Footloose

Genre: Soundtrack

Just watched the movie today and thought should review the music, which is just as good as the movie.
This album includes eight new songs and four remakes of songs from the original film soundtrack that was released in 1984. Those four remakes are "Footloose", "Holding Out For A Hero", "Let's Hear It For The Boy", and "Almost Paradise."

I love love the "Footloose" remake. Although it is sung by a different singer, Blake Shelton did a good job adding an upbeat country element to this track. It would make you want to dance as soon as the music start. "Let's Hear It For The Boy", "Almost Paradise", and "Dance The Night Away" are my other favorite tracks from this album. "Dance The Night Away" is another song that you might want to dance along to. "Let's Hear It For The Boy" has cute lyrics, a good one to sing a long to.

Here is the official "Footloose" music video:

Regina Spektor-Don't Leave Me (Ne Me Quitte Pas)

 Genre: Anti-folk

This is a preview of Regina Spektor's latest album, What We Saw from the Cheap Seats. "Don't Leave Me" is the second single taken from the album. I love love love this single. Although the title is "Don't Leave Me", it sounds very chick and happy. The French part sounds really cute plus you can sing along with it. I keep listening to it over and over again. The lyrics are a little catchy and silly. However, it is a fun song, just don't over think the lyrics.

Click here, scroll down all the way down (or you can read the article) to listen to the song and be happy!
or you can listen to it on Spotify (that is where I found this song).

I will review the whole album when What We Saw from the Cheap Seats is released on May 29, 2012.

Of Monsters and Men-My Head Is An Animal

Genre: Indie Folk, Indie Pop

Track listing:
  1. Dirty Paws
  2. King And Lion Heart
  3. Mountain Sound
  4. Slow And Steady
  5. From Finner
  6. Little Talks
  7. Six Weeks
  8. Love Love Love
  9. Your Bones
  10. Sloom
  11. Lakehouse
  12. Yellow Light
My Head Is An Animal was released in the United States just two days ago.
This album did not grab my attention until Track No.6. Track No.6, "Little Talks" did hit No.1 when it was debuted in Iceland. It is a really happy song with folk music in between verse and chorus. I also think it is the best track in this album.

In my opinion, their up tempo songs sound better than their slow tempo. I cannot really find the chorus in their slow tempo tracks. However, "Love Love Love", one of their slow tempo tracks, is my other favorite from this album. It sounds good and the lyrics are soothing.
In general, this album sounds pretty steady. It would be a good choice for a long drive or to listen to while doing some work or project. Their music has the sound that is kind of motivating and inspirational.

David Cook-This Quiet Night

Genre: Acoustic Rock

Track listing:
  1. The Last Goodbye
  2. Right Here, With You
  3. Take Me As I Am
  4. Goodbye To The Girl
  5. Paper Heart
This is the latest album released by David Cook. If you wonder why there are not so many tracks in the album is because this album is an EP(Extended Play) of his This Loud Morning album that was released last year. Apparently this album is called This Quiet Night because it consists of acoustic performances of select tracks from This Loud Morning. The acoustic does bring softness to these tracks.

I like all the tracks from this EP album, but especially love love "The Last Goodbye". Lyrically, these are beautifully written sad love songs. This album would be perfect if you are looking to listen to easy listening with rock element in it.

Selena Gomez & The Scene - When The Sun Goes Down

Genre: Dance pop, electropop, teen pop

Track listing:

1. Love You Like A Love Song
2. Bang Bang Bang
3. Who Says
4. We Own The Night
5. Hit The Lights
6. Whiplash
7. When The Sun Goes Down
8. My Dilemma
9. That’s More Like It
10. Outlaw
11. Middle Of Nowhere
12. Dices (Who Says – Spanish Version)

I would say Selena's voice is more mature in this album, she does sound better. My favorite tracks are Track no. 1 and 3, especially Track no. 1, just can't get enough of "I Love You Like A Love Song" baby. This song is played on the radio a lot these days, but I had no clue that Selena sings it! It is a very nice dance pop to sing a long to. I am also including the music video with this post, which I never done it before. However with watching the video, the song sounds even better.

I like Track no. 3, "Who Says", because it has a very good message and another good song to sing along to: "Who says you're not pretty, who says you're not beautiful, who says..."

The rest of the album have more electropop element in them, but to me they sound pretty similar to one another.

Fun.-Some Nights

Genre: Indie pop, alternative rock

Track listing:

1. Some Nights Intro
2. Some Nights
3. We Are Young
4. Carry On
5. It Gets Better
6. Why Am I The One
7. All Alone
8. All Alright
9. One Foot
10. Stars
11. Out On The Town (bonus track)

Beside the two genres that I mentioned, some tracks in this album has theatrical element to them like Track No.1, 2, and 10. My favorites from this album are Track No. 3, 5 and 6. If you are a fan of the album's lead single "We Are Young", then you might like Track No. 5, "It Gets Better", which both tracks have alternative rock element. Track No. 6 is one of the tracks in the album with pop element in it. The rest of the tracks in this album are mixes of all three elements.

Overall, it is a fun album. Just like the single "We Are Young" and the album title Some Nights, the songs in this album talk about things that happen in young people's night life. In term of the sound, if you are a big fan of indie pop/rock or just looking for something different, this album would be perfect.
